Overview

Migration is the fix for the most common reason people quit this game — a dead kingdom or a dead alliance. It is far cheaper than starting over and it keeps every hour you have invested.

The two routes are completely different in cost, so establish which one applies to you before planning anything.

Route 1: Beginner's Teleport (New Accounts)

The cheap route, and the one most people mean when they search for "beginner's immigration".

What it is: a cross-kingdom teleport granted to new accounts, letting you move to a different kingdom — usually to join friends or an alliance that recruited you.

The requirements:

City Hall below 8. This is the real gate, not power.
Within roughly 10 days of account creation — the item expires.
Not currently in an alliance. Leave first.
All marches idle, not in battle, and no reinforcements sitting in your city.
At most two characters already in the target kingdom.
The target kingdom must be open to immigration.

What to do about it: if you know which kingdom you want, go immediately. Ten days and City Hall 8 both arrive faster than new players expect, and once either passes, your only option is the passport route at full price.

Passport Pages are the currency of migration, and the count is driven by your displayed power:

The practical consequence: migration gets dramatically more expensive as you grow. The jump from 45M to 50M power doubles your page requirement. If you suspect you will move, move before the next bracket — this is one of the few places in Rise of Kingdoms where growing your account actively costs you money.

What Transfers, and What Does Not

Comes with you:

Left behind:

Your alliance. You must leave it, and you rejoin or find a new one on arrival. Spend your alliance credits first — they do not transfer.

Why Migrations Get Blocked

The common reasons a migration fails or the option is greyed out:

The target kingdom is closed to immigration.
You do not have enough passport pages for that specific target.
Your account exceeds the Beginner's Immigration thresholds and you are looking at the wrong route.
A KvK season is active. A kingdom inside an active Lost Kingdom is closed to standard immigration. See the season rules below.
A cooldown from a previous migration is still running.
Marches are out or you are in an active battle. Recall everything first.

Season Rules (This Is Where People Get Stuck)

Migration during and around seasons is governed by a separate, stricter set of rules that changed substantially in 2026:

Character age limits by destination. Roughly 80 days for KvK 2 destinations, 120 days for KvK 3, and 150 days for a first Season of Conquest story. An account older than the limit cannot enter that stage.
Cross-season migration requires a gem deposit — around 20,000 gems, refunded on completing the season.
A power ceiling applies to cross-season moves, in the region of 85M.
Seasonal quotas cap how many accounts can move into a given kingdom.
Post-season windows allow approved moves within the same Lost Kingdom at reduced page cost — this is the cheap window most serious migrations actually use.

These numbers move with updates and vary by season. Treat them as the shape of the rules and confirm the specifics on the migration screen before committing gems.

Should You Migrate?

Yes, if:

Your kingdom is dead — empty chat, no active alliances, no rallies.
Your alliance collapsed and there is nothing comparable locally.
Friends or a serious alliance recruited you elsewhere.

No, if:

You are annoyed at one player. Migration is expensive; blocking is free.
You are chasing a "better" kingdom you have not verified. Ask in their chat first.
You are mid-KvK and your alliance is counting on you.

Migration solves dead kingdoms. It does not solve an under-built account — that needs the beginner roadmap, not a new address.
